The Easton Crush under-14 softball team recently won the ISA Class C State Championship in Crossville. Members of the championship team are, front row from left, Shauna Taylor (DeKalb County High School), Maggie Whitson (Livingston Academy), Ashley Bean (Cookeville High School), Betty Lopez (Cookeville High School), Jordan Funderburk (Avery Trace Middle School), and back row from left, Coach Ken Taylor, Kristen Abell (White County High School), Lauren Colwell (DeKalb County High School), Sydney Price (Cookeville High School) Alison Trentham (Walter J. Baird Middle School), and Coach Brad Whitson. Not pictured are Kristen Haile (DeKalb County Middle School), Abby Collins (Cookeville High School), and Makala McLerran (Clay County High School).

Best Offensive Player award went to Sydney Price, with 19 RBIs over seven games. Best Defensive Player went to Betty Lopez, who played catcher for all games.

Alabama Bottom

The Independent Softball Association has announced that its 2012 Fast Pitch World Series will be held in Crossville, Tennessee on July 12 thru July 15th. The World Series will feature 2 seed games into a double elimination format. Check in will be Thursday at 2 pm July 12th and play will begin on Friday July 13th with championship being held Sunday July 15th.

Entry fee $450.00 - no gate fee for players and coaches. All spectators will need to purchase a weekend pass at any gate good for all world series play.
